Food Security: Reinventing the Qatari Food Supply

Together with the QRDI (Qatar research, development and innovation agency) and Hassad Food, we are conducting trials for the successfull cultivation of lettuce in arid environments. First trials in Berlin were already successful in harvesting more than double the amount targeted. Qatar with its climate of sometimes over 50°C and humidity as high as 90% in the air during summer months is especially vulnerable when it comes to food safety. Under these circumstances even greenhouses and nearly free energy canot help to grow anything during a period of multiple months. That's why the technology like ours comes in so vital in securing the Qatari food supply - and possibly also the medical production.
